Knowing your machine, your best business partner.

Before you start sewing, you need to first get to know your Sewing Machine. You have to read the manual to understand which parts are for what purposes. If you're lucky, there are also free tutorial videos posted online by other seamstresses/bloggers to teach you how to use your machine.

I'm using the Brother GS-2700 model for all my sewing products. It's a simple model that can do the basic stictches, a suitable model for begineers like me! You can shop around Spotlight/Courts/Best Denki to try out which model suits you the best. There's often a helpful staff hanging around the section to demonstrate the multiple functions of each machine. I would personally recommend purchasing a simple model as a start. As I share the tutorials on this blog, you'll see that you don't need too many flowery patterns to put together a presentable piece.
